Lebanese Fried Potatoes With Cilantro and Garlic - Batata Harra

Ingredients

  • 5 potatoes (900 gr), cut into 1 cm cubes (≈ half inch)
  • 4 big garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 bunch cilantro (about 25 gr) + a bit more for garnish, finely chopped
  • ½ tsp chili flakes
  • Squeeze of lemon juice
  • Salt/pepper

Directions

  • 1. Pat dry the potatoes.
  • 2. Heat oil in a large pan over medium/high heat.
  • 3. Add the potatoes to the pan and fry until golden/brown and cooked through, about 20 minutes. Remove from oil and drain.
  • 4. Now, fry the garlic until slightly golden.
  • 5. Add chili and fresh cilantro, give it a quick stir.
  • 6. Then add the fried potatoes and stir until the potatoes are well coated. Season with salt and pepper.
  • 7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.
  • 8. Enjoy!
