Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour OR GROUND OAT FLOUR
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3 1/2 sticks butter, unsalted
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 5 cups old fashioned oats
  • kosher salt

Directions

  • 350 oven. Whisk flour, powder, soda. Beat the butter and the sugar until light, scrape down and beat in the eggs and vanilla. Slowly beat in the dry ingredients, then stir in the oats. Roll in 1 tablespoon sized balls. Place on lined baking sheets--IT'S IMPORTANT TO USE LIGHT ALUMINUM HERE SO THE BUTTER HAS TIME TO MELT, press down to flatten. Sprinkle lightly with some koshar salt and bake for 13-16 minutes until lightly golden and crisp. Makes 72
