Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (extra virgin olive oil)
- 1 Onion (finely chopped)
- 2 cloves Garlic (chopped)
- 1 lb Beef (or lamb ground)
- 3 tbsp Parsley (finely chopped)
- ½ tsp Salt
- ½ tsp Pepper (freshly ground)
- ¾ tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1 pkg Filo Pastry
- ¼ cup Butter (melted)
- 1 tbsp Sesame Seeds
- 1 Egg (lightly beaten + 1 tsp water)
- 2 cups Yogurt (to serve)
Directions
- Filling
- Heat olive oil in a pan, sauté onion and garlic for a few minutes, then add ground meat and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and paprika, then mix in parsley. Drain excess liquid and set aside.
- Burek
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Layer filo sheets three times, slightly overlapping, to form a long rectangle. Brush with melted butter, place the meat mixture along one edge, and roll tightly into a long tube. Shape into a spiral and transfer to the baking sheet.
- Baking
- Brush with egg wash, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake at 190°C (375°F) for 20-30 minutes until golden brown. Serve with yogurt.
