Gnocchi al Pomodoro

Ingredients
- Gnocchi store-bought or homemade: 1 lb
- Crushed tomatoes: 1 can (14 oz / 400 g)
- Onion: 1 small, diced
- Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
- Olive oil: 2 tbsp
- Basil: a handful, fresh
- Salt and black pepper: to taste

- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened. Stir in crushed tomatoes and simmer for 15-20 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the gnocchi and cook until they float to the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Remove with a slotted spoon.
- Toss the cooked gnocchi with the tomato sauce and fresh basil leaves.
- Plate the gnocchi and sprinkle with Parmesan for extra flavor.
