Smoked Sausage and Potato Foil Packs

Ingredients

  • 12 ounces smoked sausage, (such as Hillshire farms fully cooked smoked sausage any flavor)
  • 4 red potatoes, diced
  • 1 1/2 cups Fresh green beans, or your favorite veggie, cabbage, onions, mushrooms, cauliflower, broccoli etc... or a mix of all
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste salt free seasoning blend, or seasoning of your choice
  • black pepper
  • Even Italian seasoning or some fresh herbs would be good too
  • FOR ONE
  • 3 to 6 ounces smoked sausage (such as Hillshire farms fully cooked smoked sausage any flavor)
  • 1 large or 2 small to medium red potatoes diced
  • 1 heaping half cup of vegetables of your choice such as any or all of these green beans, cauliflower, broccoli, mushrooms, onions etc.
  • 1/2 to 2 teaspoons or to taste seasoning of your choice

Directions

  • 1. Heat oven to 400F.
  • 2. Cook green beans, in boiling water until just crisp tender; Drain, set aside.
  • 3. Meanwhile, cut sausage into 1/2 to 1 inch slices and Dice potatoes. Evenly spread meat between 4 pieces of foil, top with potatoes, then the green beans. season, and close foil, with a double fold seam.
  • 4. Bake in the oven for 20 to 30 minutes or until done.

  • This can also be made in a skillet! For stovetop start with 1/4 cup water or 2 tablespoons oil. vegetables, cover and cook checking often once they are tender add the smoked sausage, and once they are close to done top with cheese if you like.
  • Tip: if using canned green beans drain and add as you would the rest of the veggies. also you can add some shredded cheese after you open the packet. otherwise it will end up on the foil and not on your food.
