Country Meatball Ragout

Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 cup milk, (1 to 1 1/2)
- 3 tablespoons parsley
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 3 pounds ground sirloin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 can mushroom soup, Golden
- 1/8 teaspoon thyme
- 2 cups beef stock
- 1 bay leaf
- 8 ounces stewed tomatoes
- 1 pounds carrots, cut into chunks (1 to 2)
- 1/2 teaspoon basil
- 6 potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 1/2 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup flour
Directions
- Meatballs:Mix first 7 ingredients together. Form into balls. Brown in the butter. Remove and drain.Sauce:Add the other ingredients (except water and flour) to a large stock pot. Bring to a boil. Add meatballs. Cover. Simmer 20 minutes until done. Stir occasionally. Blend water and flour and add to sauce to thicken it before serving.
