Directions

  • Every time I see figs at the store, I get excited, but let’s be real, they don’t always taste as good as they look. That’s why I love finding ways to dress them up, like with this Honey Roasted Figs over Yogurt. The roasting brings out their natural sweetness, which pairs beautifully with the creamy yogurt, and a sprinkle of chopped nuts for that perfect crunch.
  • Roasted Figs Over Yogurt!
  • Ingredients
  • 10 fresh figs
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • A few sprigs of thyme or rosemary
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
  • Chopped walnut for garnish
  • Fresh thyme or rosemary for garnish
  • Instructions
  • Preheat your oven to 325°F
  • Rinse the figs under cold water and pat them dry with a paper towel. Cut a small “X” on the top of each fig.
  • Place the figs in a baking dish. Drizzle the olive oil and honey over the figs.
  • Add the sprigs of thyme or rosemary around the figs for additional flavor.
  • Transfer the baking dish to the preheated oven. Roast the figs for about 30 minutes basting them occasionally with the juices released until
  • they become soft and slightly caramelized.
  • While the figs are roasting, spread the plain Greek yogurt evenly in a serving bowl.
  • Once the figs are done, remove them from the oven. Place the warm figs on top of the yogurt.
  • Sprinkle chopped walnuts over the figs and yogurt. Garnish with a few fresh thyme or rosemary leaves.
  • Drizzle a bit more juices from the pan and serve immediately.
  • This dish is perfect as a light dessert or a sweet breakfast treat!
