Fried Cabbage w/ Bacon & Garlic

Ingredients
- 1 head green cabbage, cored and thinly sliced
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
Directions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add the chopped bacon. Cook until the bacon is crispy, stirring occasionally. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.
- Add the olive oil to the skillet if needed, followed by the minced garlic. Sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- 3. Toss in the sliced cabbage and stir to coat in the bacon grease. Cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage softens and starts to caramelize.
- Sprinkle with salt, pepper, and smoked paprika, if using. Stir well and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Add the cooked bacon back to the skillet and toss to combine. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve immediately.
