Ingredients
- 12 vanilla beans
- 1 bottle vodka, bourbon, rum or brandy (80 proof)
Directions
- First, slice each bean along the length of the entire pod. Depending on the size of the bottle, you can also cut the pods down into smaller sections to make it easier to get them inside your container.
- Combine the vanilla beans and vodka in a jar tall enough to hold the vanilla beans. Allow the mixture to sit at room temperature for at least a month (better eight weeks). The extract can sit at room temperature indefinitely.
