Ingredients

  • For the Sausage
  • 3 Italian Sausage Links, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 2 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • For the Tortellini
  • 19 oz Bag of Frozen Tortellini
  • 1/4 cup Kosher Salt
  • 1 tbsp Butter
  • For the Creamy Red Sauce
  • 2 tbsp Jar Minced Garlic
  • 1 & 1/2 cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese (shaker type)
  • 4 tbsp Tomato Paste
  • 1 tbsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tbsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tbsp Butter

Directions

  • Fill a large pot with water, add 1/4 cup kosher salt, and bring to a boil. Add the tortellini and cook according to package instructions. Drain, toss with 1 tbsp butter, and set aside.
  • Heat a cast iron skillet over medium-low, add olive oil. Sauté sausage pieces until browned, about 10-15 minutes. Add garlic powder, black pepper, kosher salt, paprika, and onion powder halfway through. Remove sausage and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, sauté minced garlic briefly, then pour in heavy cream, stirring to deglaze the pan. Simmer until thickened slightly.
  • Stir in parmesan cheese until melted and combined, then whisk in tomato paste until smooth. Season with paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and oregano.
  • Return sausage to skillet, add cooked tortellini, and stir to coat in sauce. Finish with a tablespoon of butter, stir until melted and combined.
  • Serve warm and enjoy!
