Ingredients

  • •2-3 lb Chuck Roast or Rump Round Roast
  • •Olive oil
  • *Seasonings
  • •S&P
  • •Badia Seasoning
  • •Garlic Powder
  • •Cajun Seasoning
  • •Worcestershire Sauce
  • •Holy Trinity - Onion, celery, bell pepper
  • •peeled garlic cloves
  • •Golden potatoes
  • •Baby Carrots
  • •1/2 sweet onion, sliced
  • •1/2 stick of unsalted butter
  • •1/4 cup of all purpose flour
  • •12oz Heintz Savory Beef Gravy
  • •32oz unsalted Beef Broth
  • •32oz water
  • •tobacco hot sauce
  • •Cajun seasoning
  • •Bay Leaves
  • •2 packs Lipton Onion Soup Mix

Directions

  • 1. In large Dutch oven, drizzle a little olive oil. Season meat and put seasoned side down, season other side. Cook 5-7 minutes on both sides until you get the meat a pretty golden brown. Remove and set aside. Cut slits in the meat on one side and stuff with whole garlic cloves.
  • 2. In the Dutch oven, add your butter and holy trinity mix. Let that cook down until translucent. Add in flour and 5-7 drops of hot sauce. Let that combine for 2 minutes. Add in jar of Gravy, broth, water, and rest of seasonings other than soup mix. Let some to a slight boil.
  • 3. Add meat back in. Cover and put in oven on 325. Cook 2½ hours.
  • 4. Add in potatoes, carrots, sliced onions, and soup mix. Cover and let cook for another 3 hours.
