Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Sesame seeds for garnish

Directions

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the spaghetti or linguine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  • In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant but not browned.
  • Stir in the soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes (if using). Mix well and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add the cooked noodles back into the pot along with the reserved pasta water. Toss everything together until the noodles are well coated in the sauce.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions and cilantro. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds.
