Bakuteh

Pork, Soup / Stew • Omnivore
Serving size: 4
Cook time: 4 hours

Ingredients

  • 900g Pork Ribs
  • Bakuteh spice packets
  • 50 cloves of garlic (5 bulbs)
  • ½ tsp dark soy sauce
  • ½ tsp light soy sauce
  • Optional: pork belly sliced, white pepper, veggies, shiitake mushrooms, tofu puffs
  • Rice, for serving

Directions

  • 1. Rinse pork ribs thoroughly in water.
  • 2. Place pork in pot and cover completely with water.
  • 3. Bring the pot to a boil and allow to boil for 5 minutes.
  • 4. Take out the pork ribs and rinse thoroughly. Set aside for now.
  • 5. Clean out the pot thoroughly and then fill with water.
  • 6. Bring the pot of water to boil before placing the garlic and spice packets in. Boil for 15 minutes.
  • 7. Add the pork ribs and soy sauces to the soup.
  • 8. Lower the heat to a simmer and simmer the soup for at least 1 hour, but the best is 4 hours. The longer you boil, the more tender the meat becomes.
  • 9. Add any veggies towards the end and serve with rice.

Notes

  • Used 1tbs dark soy sauce and 1 tbs light soy sauce and it turned out well.
  • Always cut meat against the grain.
