Tortilla Pizza

Ingredients

  • 1 flour tortilla
  • 1 to 3 tablespoons pizza sauce, barbecue sauce, taco sauce or other sauce
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped or shredded meat or meat replacer
  • 2/3 cup (total) chopped tomato, or bell pepper or what ever veggie you like (if using)
  • shredded cheese such as Mozzarella, Monterey Jack, cheddar cheese or vegan mozzarella shreds
  • Sliced jalapenos, fresh diced or sliced tomatoes, optional

Directions

  • 1. Preheat oven to 425 F (218C)
  • 2. Using a baking sheet with a cake cooling rack on top. Or place tortilla directly on oven rack.
  • 3. Place tortillas on a dinner plate and top with the toppings you want, or Place tortillas on cooling rack place over baking sheet. Top with sauce, cheese, meat, then veggies, if using.
  • 4. Bake it until the cheese is melted and the tortilla is crispy and browned on the edges, about 15 to 20 minutes.

Notes

  • VARIATIONS: Have fun with this recipe, use more than just pizza sauce and pepperoni,
  • BARBECUE CHICKEN PIZZA: use barbecue sauce in place of pizza sauce, top with cheese, jalapeno slices if you like it spicy, shredded or chopped cooked chicken, bell pepper slices and onion slices too.
  • TACO PIZZA: brown some ground turkey or beef season with taco seasoning. In place of pizza sauce use taco sauce. After removing from oven top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, jalapeños and picante sauce, some sour cream optional A pizza stone is wonderful for these too
  • MAKE A VEGGIE PIZZA with leftover or fresh THINLY Sliced vegetables, such as bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, shaved Brussels sprouts, etc. Or go by a buffet and pick up some roasted or grilled veggies slice them up and use those on the pizza.
  • Use any sauce that suits ya at the time. and even
  • Vegan Cheese works great for these pizzas too.
