Dorothy's Never-Fail Caramels

Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup half-and-half
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup butter
- 4 t vanilla
Directions
- Generously butter a 9x13 pan. In a 5 quart saucepan, combine everything except vanilla and cook to firm ball stage (248F). Stir in the vanilla; pour into prepared pan. Let cool, then cut into squares and wrap in waxed paper.
